Congress today extended the $8,000 tax credit for homebuyers who haven't owned a house in the last 3 years and added a new $6,500 credit for homebuyers who have owned a home for the past 5 years. Both credits now expire on 7/1/10. The Senate passed the bill on Wednesday by a 98 - 0 vote and the House passed it on thursday 403 - 12. The President is expected to sign it into law on Friday.
